Our holiday vacation rental is a complete package. It includes Villa Sxinias, a large, beautiful, modern house located directly on the Aegean seashore with a private swimming pool for your relaxation and our optional van with driver to take you around our part of Greece. You will not find a better bargain in Greece. Our home is large and spacious with sea and island views through out. Our seashore location is very convenient to both downtown Athens and the airport.

DETAILS OF OUR HOME, OUR RENTAL, AND OUR LOCATION
OUR HOME: VILLA SXINIAS
OUR HOME is a large (650 square meter, 7015 sq ft) single-family home having 5 levels located directly on the sea with a private swimming pool and an attached garage in the garage level below the swimming pool. It is not part of a townhouse, condominium or apartment complex nor does it share a common wall with another house. The 5 levels are a penthouse bedroom level, the bedroom level with four bedrooms, living level, swimming pool level with our pool side guest quarters, and the garage level. The house is nested in a hillside and each level except the penthouse bedroom has direct ground level access. We only rent to one group at a time.
OUR VACATION RENTAL
OUR VACATION RENTAL is the penthouse, living, and bedroom levels of the house providing sleeping for up to 10 people in comfort and privacy (370 sq meters, 4000 square feet). We can supplement the total sleeping arrangements to 12 people, including children and infants.
The living level is an open plan design with a large living area, entertainment area, dining area, sitting room, large entrance foyer, two-story atrium, water closet, and a modern, American-style, gourmet kitchen with breakfast nook in a bay window overlooking the sea. Windows, glass doors, and balconies span the seaside of the house providing commanding views of the Aegean Sea and islands beyond. The kitchen is fully equipped with a ceramic stove top, built-in BBQ grill, built-in fryer, convection oven, triple sink, microwave, side by side refrigerator freezer, dishwasher, island, and a breakfast nook with bay windows overlooking the sea. The living level is air conditioned for your comfort.
The penthouse level has a large king size bed, marble vanity, large walk-in shower for two, sitting area, and a large roof-top terrace. Plenty of windows offering island and sea vistas. It is the perfect private get-away from family and friends. (sleeps two people)
The bedroom level has four, air conditioned, bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a laundry room providing comfortable sleeping for up to 8 people.
The west bedroom suite has a queen-sized bed, private balcony, and a private in-suite bathroom with full body, walk-in shower. Its southern windows overlook the cove and Aegean Sea below the house. It also has a private balcony with a commanding sea view.
The north bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a private, in-suite bathroom. It is located on the inland side of the house and has its own private garden and one patio area with a sea view.
The two remaining bedrooms have beautiful sea views and share a large balcony and a hall bathroom. The south bedroom has a double bed and the west bedroom has two single beds. The balcony is large and oversees the swimming pool, Aegean Sea, and Evia Island.
The laundry room is off the north bedroom and contains a clothes washer and dryer.
Supplemental Sleeping for up to 2 people is available through two fold-away single beds that can be located in any of the bedrooms.
A MEDIUM GROUP discount is available for groups of 5 to 8 people
A SMALL GROUP discount is available for groups of 4 people or less
NOTE: The penthouse bedroom suit is not included for groups receiving a medium or small group discount nor is supplemental sleeping available.
OUR LOCATION: SCHINIAS GREECE
The Community of Schinias (Sxinias) is one of Athens most exclusive seashore resorts. It is a planned community created as place for summer homes in a natural setting on the Aegean Sea but close enough to downtown Athens to allow homeowners to commute daily to their workplace. Commute times to the airport and downtown Athens are generally about an hour during weekday traffic using the expressways and controlled access highways. Surface streets take a bit longer to do. Thousands of people annually make the journey on foot taking about two and a half hours as they run along the route of the original Marathon Run. Downtown Athens (the Acropolis) is approximately 35 kilometers (22 miles) by road and the airport is approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the house by air but 55 KM (35 miles) by highway.
Schinias stretches several kilometers along a mountainous coast with about 60% of its land area set aside as green areas protected from development and the rest divided into 1000 lots for homes owned by private individuals. Only one commercial activity, a convenience store, is allowed within our community. The positive aspect of all this is that we have very little traffic on our streets and none of the night-time noises and turmoil associated with clubs, restaurants, and similar commercial activities that plague most of the Athens area. These benefits, however, make the distances from our house to supermarkets, restaurants, shops, bus stops, etc. such that you will need your own rental car or our CareFree Transportation Service.
The swimming pool level apartment, elevator, garage roof terrace and garage level are not part of a vacation rental and are reserved for the owners usage when they are in residence. The design of the house is such that the swimming pool apartment as well as access to it, is isolated from house proper during a rental to assure your visual and acoustical privacy. The elevator can be made available if any members of your group have difficulty with stairs. When the owners are in residence, the swimming pool and areas around the pool are shared with them.
CAREFREE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE:
Driving in Greece really isnt that difficult. Hundreds of thousands of tourist do it all the time with no problems and you can too. Most road signs are in Greek and English. However, the driver, as always and no matter where, will miss out on most of the sites due to the demands of the road. So why not relax and enjoy your holiday in Greece. Let us do the driving for you. Enjoy your outings without worrying about a designated driver. Dont worry about getting lost. Vacations are to get away from the stress of the workplace, so let us take on the stress of the Greek highways and the Athens traffic. For groups of six or less we can provide a vehicle with driver or for groups up to eight people we can provide a driver for your rental vehicle. Contact us for additional details.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Our current rental capacity is 12 people maximum.
2. Our home is perfect for families and groups of friends to enjoy a delightful sea, sun, and fun Holiday in Greece. However, we do receive requests to rent our home for wedding receptions, movie shoots, etc. These we must decline.
3. Because of water conservation concerns, the jacuzzi tub in the penthouse bedroom suite is not available as part of a rental.
4. We do not accept a booking having an arrival or a departure during Christmas, New Years Week, or Greek Orthodox Easter Week.
5, Development at Schinias is at leisurely pace with around 250 houses built over the past 25 years. Approximately 10-15 homes are under construction at any one time through out the community currently two are near us but should be completed by 1 Jan 2010..
6. A rental car or our CareFree Transportation service is needed.
7. The owners, when in residence, reside in the pool side apartment and the swimming pool and pool side patio is shared.

The Location
Villa Agnanti is located in a picturesque location near to Athens, although very relaxing and quite. Close to the beach and with view of the sea (notios evoikos) and also view of the beautiful island of Evia.
The villa is ideal for those who love nature and want to relax. Although within 20 minutes you will be able to find night clubs, bars and restaurant for a more active holidays taste.
The area offers two fish Tavernas on the beach with traditional Greek food and wine.
However, prior arrangement for their own transportation is required as the next transportation station to Athens and Marathon is 8 kilometers away at the local village of Grammatiko.
Villa Agnanti is located 17 kilometers away from the Olympic Rowing Center of Schinias, 16 kilometers from the Historic Tomb of Marathon and 15 kilometers from the starting line of the Athens Marathon. The ancient site of Ramnous is 12 km away from Marathon which was built next to two temples.
The Historic Battle of Marathon took place in 490 B.C. According to Herodotus, 100,000 Persians were defeated by 11,000 Greek Soldiers at Marathon. The Greeks were victorious due to the ingenious plan of their general Miltiades.
What to Visit during your holiday in Villa Agnanti: 1)The Island of Evoia is within a 2 hours drive(there is a bridge connecting the island with mainland Greece, or 1 hour drive and 1 hour ferry. In Evoia there are beautiful beaches and nice tavernas and bars to visit. 2)Athens and Acropolis: Within an hour drive the guest can reach the center of the Greek Capital. 3)Nea Makri and marathon in 30 minutes drive: Ancient sites, beach bars, bars and clubs, restaurants, museums, shopping centers, banks, Internet cafes. 4)Greek islands for day trips: within 45 minutes drive the guests can reach the port of Rafina. From Rafina there are ferries to many Greek islands as Mikonos(4 hours), Paros(4 hours), Tinos. Also there are speed ferry boats that can take you to main Greek islands within 2 hours. 5) Corinthos are within 2 hours drive from the Villa. 6)Olympia is a nice visit for day trip. The guests can visit the ancient sites of Ancient Olympia. 7)Peloponese is within 2 hours drive from the Villa.

Ionian IslandsLocation: GreeceDescription: The Vision
We have created a boutique house on the stunning island of Kefalonia, in the quiet hamlet of Batzukata, a short distance away from elegant resort of Fiscardo. Our vision has always been to restore one of the many ruins that litter the landscape on the island and in 2006 we found the perfect spot. We started with the shell of a 400 year old property that had been left to decay since the devastating 1953 earthquake and have practically had to rebuild it from the ground up. All of the stonework is original and our architect is from the old school, wanting to retain any of the original features that were still remaining.
The Living
In the main area of the house, the entrance leads into the relaxed galleried lounge. This has been furnished to a high standard with Italian furniture and handblown glass lighting. With high, open ceilings, the morning light will flood the wooden floored room and create a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. There are block wood steps leading down to the kitchen and breakfast room with a door out onto the main marble patio.
Between the kitchen and the new bedroom there is a washroom/WC for general use which is in addition to the en-suite wet-rooms. There is underfloor heating in the kitchen/breakfast room to ensure that comfort is kept to a maximum even on cooler evenings and air conditioning is provided to cool down those hot summer nights.

HOW TO GET THERE:
* Kefalonia is the largest island in the Ionian Sea. You can get there either by plane or car.
* There are direct flights from UK and other EU countries. Villa Brio is 30 min drive from Kefalonia International Airport.
* In case you use a car, you take the ferry from Italy to Patra (mainland Greece). Then you take the ferry to Sami (island`s main port), about 3 hours trip. Villa Brio is 35 min drive from Sami port.
* Another option is to take the ferry from Killini (1 hour drive from Patra) to Poros port. Then it takes 10 min drive to Villa Brio.

Villa Annamay is a charming 3 bedroom private villa available to rent in St Spiridon, north of Corfu. Corfu is one of the most beautiful islands in Greece with views and sunsets that you will never forget. The villa is ideally located within lemon and olive groves and only a 5 minute stroll to the lovely sandy beaches of St Spiridon.

- Should we rent a car?
Those who want to venture into downtown Athens on their own, can catch the bus either from Schinias beach (3 minutes drive from our house) or from Marathon village (at a distance of 12 kms), and then take the brand new metro that practically gets you everywhere. Pls note, however, that, while bus service from Marathon village is quite reliable every 30 during high season we can not say the same for the buses that leave from Schinias beach. Cancellations of scheduled itineraries have proved disastrous for some of our friends in the past For short distances, however, (bus station, nearest super market, Schinias beach, night life, etc.), we strongly recommend that you rent your own car.
-What do we do during our stay? Places to see.
That is totally up to you. You could enjoy the sea and spend the day in oriental laziness, or you could try some of the various water activities (including water surfing and jet ski), offered in the crystal clear waters of Schinias Beach.
There is always the possibility of visiting nearby Marathon historic site, the archeological site of Ramnous and the Marathon Museum.
You can spend the entire day in Athens, visiting Acropolis, the Archeological Museum, picturesque Plaka with its numerous taverns, Lycabetus Hill for an overwhelming view of the city and so many more
For short tours around Athens, there is the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, with its unique sunset, the Kutuki cave at mount Hymetus, the Temple of Artemis at Vravrona
You can catch the ferry from the port of Rafina, at a 45 drive from our house and visit some of the most beautiful Cycladic islands, like Myconos, Andros and Tinos, or you can cross by ferry the short distance from the port of Aghia Marina (only 15 drive from our house) to Stira, and enjoy the island of Evia.
For more extensive tours around Greece, including overnights or not, you have a vast variety of choices, from the temple of Mycenae, to Olympia and the oracle of Delphi, from the mountain perched monasteries of Meteora and the evergreen mountain of Pelion, to Byzantine Mystras and Sparta

The House
On the ground floor is a kitchen, two double sized bedrooms and a bathroom with a bath, shower and washing machine.
Bedroom one has a double bed and double doors opening up on to a sea facing patio.
Bedroom two has twin beds and opens up onto its own terrace overlooking the swimming pool.
There are dining areas on the covered terrace outside the kitchen (with space for 10) or in the kitchen seating 6 people. A high chair is also available.
Upstairs there is a spacious living room with two large balconies. A dining area on the west facing balcony can fit 6 people, whilst a smaller table for more intimate dining is on the north face balcony.

The surrounding area
Almyrida Bay is only a 10 minute (3 mile) drive from the house. The beaches here are very safe for children as they shelve very gently into the sea. There are over 20 restaurants, bars and shops and you can also rent kayaks, windsurfs, sailing boats & bicycles.
There are no large hotels and so Almyrida has a quiet environment that livens up in the evening as the beach front restaurants and bars fill up with diners.
The bigger seaside town of Kalives with beaches, restaurants, bank and supermarket is a further 10 minutes drive from Almyrida.
If you are missing the delights of the city, Chania, regarded as one of the loveliest cities in Greece, is a 30 minutes along the National Highway. There is a great old town where you can wander the narrow lanes until you come to the Venetian built harbour lined with restaurants and bars. Boat trips and horse and carriage rides are available and nearby there is a water park with both gentle and scary rides!
Crete is the most southerly and largest of the Greek islands (180 miles long by 40 miles wide) & so there are many areas to explore including walking in the Samari Gorge (Europes longest gorge at 18km), boating on Lake Kournas, driving through the White Mountains, discovering the many beaches or wandering the historic cities of Chania, Reythimon or Heraklion.
As the home of Europes earliest civilisation, Crete has many ancient ruins including Knossos Palace, the ancient home of King Minos & the Minotaur where according to Greek myth Icarus began his ill fated flight.

PeloponneseDescription: Old character house in Nafplio
We fell in love with this house the moment we saw it. it has wonderful views but most of all a great sense of callmness and warmth. We have spent there lots of holidays with our family going to the square for coffes, swimming in the nearby beaches, having delicious meals in town. In the evenings it is so nice just to sit in the garden and enjoy the fresh air and the orange trees.
Description
The town has great shopping and awide selection of restaurants and cafes. there are two gorgeous castles in town one of them in the sea. From the house you can see the big castle on the hill all light up in the night. It is quite the site.
Of course by now we have our favourite restaurants that we are more than happy to share with you but most importantly the ice-cream shop own by our dear friend Marcelo and his sister Claudia. The best ice-cream in the world.

The village of Koskinou is a traditional one, with lovely friendly but initially distant greek people. for the rest there are artists from athens and some foreigners, and a nice amount of children although not directly neighbouring.

Villa Anastasia - Situation
Villa Anastasia is located in unspoilt countryside and offers panoramic views of Souda Bay. the beautiful white mountains and Drapanos Mount. Ideally situated for those seeking peace, quiet and seclusion yet with all amenities close to hand.
The charming hamlet of Litsarda is a five minute stroll from the house and basic supplies can be purchased from the local pizzeria/mini market alongside delicious pizza (eat in or takeaway). Vamos, a wonderful, traditional Greek village, with a bank, bakers, small supermarkets, two excellent tavernas and the local tourist office is three minutes drive by car. Wonderful beaches at Almerida and Kalives are only 10 minutes drive away.
Close to Litsarda there many other beautiful Apokoron villages to explore such as Gavalochori, Douliana, Xirosterni and Kefalas. The local countryside offers many opportunities for peaceful walks following old donkey trails through stunning scenery.
Accommodation
The whole house is light, airy, spacious and beautifully furnished. All furniture is traditional in style and has been made by a local craftsman.
There is a large, open plan, kitchen, dining area with high, wooden, vaulted ceilings for coolness. The villa is situated some way above sea level and receives plenty of through breeze in the summer months. However, fans are provided in the bedrooms for guests to use.
The pale green kitchen is well equipped with dining table, full size oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle, toaster and an array of pots, pans and cooking implements.
In the living area there is a traditional style sofa (with full size pull out single bed), working fireplace and well stocked bookcase. The sofa itself has also been used to sleep an additional child. Access to the front and pool terraces is through large, glass fronted french doors. A TV, DVD and CD player are provided for guests to use.
The master bedroom has two single beds, which can be pushed together to make a double, bedside tables, large wardrobe, dressing table/mirror and french doors leading to a terrace, again with fantastic views out over the bay. An iron and hairdryer are available for guests to use.
Next to the master bedroom is a large beautifully tiled bathroom, with dark blue mosaic tiles, complete with full size bath, shower and wc.
The second double bedroom is delightfully furnished with two single beds, a bedside table, chest of drawers and mirror all in painted blue wood. There is access to the terrace through french doors.
Next to this bedroom is a shower room, again beautifully tiled with pale blue mosaic tiles, with shower, sink and wc.
Outside
There are many terraces and seating areas from which to admire the lovely views. Garden furniture includes tables, chairs, loungers, sun beds and umbrellas. There is also a small bbq.
The 8m x 4m swimming pool has its own beautiful white stone terrace and catches the sun all day. Its wonderful to sit here in the evenings sipping your wine looking out over the bay and watching as the bats swoop down over the pool. Parents of small children should note that the pool is 1.5m in depth and does not have a shallow end.
The large roof terrace is the perfect place for sun downers as you watch the sun slip behind the white mountains.
There is a white stone terrace which runs all the way round the house offering opportunities to find shady spots during the day or you can lounge amidst the newly landscaped garden.

Villa Helena is situated in the ideal location to start many of the walks as described in the alonissos on Foot book (which can be found in the house and also to stroll down the goat paths through the trees to several of the local bays.
Alonissos is part of the North Sporades group of islands situated in the north Aegean and is the centre of the marine park and conservation area. The island is verdant and criss-crossed by many interesting walks often through olive groves or sweet pine scented forests.

The villa is north facing toward the sea, so the pool area is in constant sunshine all day. If you prefer shade, however, you will find it on one of the terraces at different times of the day. The villa is cleaned prior to your arrival with a mid-week clean available at extra cost. Air-conditioning is available at extra cost. The village of Agia Triada (which can be seen from the side balcony) is less than 10 minutes walk. Here you will find the local taverna (take your phrase book as the owners speak no english) which opens about 7.00pm and serves hot food.
